FAQ
Why is SENSEX options history so hard to find?
BSE derivatives only became liquid after weekly SENSEX expiries launched, so the free datasets and community repos — which are mostly older NSE projects — never covered them. Most commercial vendors price BSE as an add-on to an NSE feed rather than selling the history on its own. A few backtesting platforms now carry SENSEX and BANKEX 1-minute data inside their own interface, but they do not let you export it.
Does this include BANKEX?
Not yet. This page covers the SENSEX chain. BANKEX is in the download queue and will get its own page once the archive holds enough of it to be worth selling — the coverage page shows the current state honestly rather than pre-selling it.
How far back does SENSEX options data go?
The coverage table above is generated from the live catalog and shows the exact first and last date held. The floor is set by the source API, which serves BSE derivatives from a later date than NSE — no vendor can offer deeper retail history than that floor.
Does SENSEX options data include open interest?
SENSEX options 1-min: open interest is present 7 Nov 2023 – 20 Apr 2026 and 6 Jul – 14 Aug 2026; it is 0 from 21 Apr – 3 Jul 2026 and from 17 Aug 2026. SENSEX futures 1-min: OI is 0 on 17 days in Jul–Nov 2024, from 26 Dec 2025 – 3 Jul 2026 and 17–26 Aug 2026; present otherwise.
Which columns are in the SENSEX option files?
Files from 7 Nov 2023 to 14 Aug 2026: timestamp, open, high, low, close, volume, oi, strike, option_type, expiry and iv. The iv column is taken as-is from the data feed and is not independently computed or verified. Files from 17 Aug 2026 use the 13-column layout of the free sample (no iv). No Greeks, no bid/ask.
Is the SENSEX spot index included?
In the SENSEX Complete and NIFTY + SENSEX Complete packs, yes: SENSEX futures and spot at the same 1-minute resolution, so the chain can be aligned against the underlying. Futures and spot are not included in options-only packs: they come in the Complete packs (options + futures + spot) or as the separate NIFTY Futures + Spot pack.
Can I buy NIFTY and SENSEX together?
Yes, and it is cheaper than buying them separately. The NIFTY + SENSEX Complete pack covers both indices' options, futures and spot at 1-minute in one purchase.

No file has Greeks or bid/ask. Many option files include an iv column taken as-is from the data feed (not independently verified); the free sample does not. See the file schema.
