Buying
How does buying work?
Pick a pack and enter your name, email and mobile. The next page shows a UPI QR with the exact amount pre-filled — pay from any UPI app, then enter the 12-digit UTR (transaction reference). We verify the payment by hand, then the download link is emailed, usually within a few hours. It also appears on your order page.
How long does approval take?
Payments are checked by hand, 8 AM – 11 PM IST. Most orders are approved within a few hours of submitting the UTR; payments made late at night are approved the next morning.
Is GST added? Do I get a receipt?
Prices are one-time with no GST added. Every approved order has a printable receipt on its order page.
How do I find my order again?
Use the link in your email, or track your order with the order ID and your email.
The pack I need is not listed. What now?
We sell ready-made packs only. If none fits, tell us which instrument, segment or dates are missing on the request page — it tells us which packs to add next.
The data
What is in the files?
Contract-level bars for every strike and expiry in the pack: OHLC, volume and open interest, as Parquet files. Packs are 1-minute; NIFTY options + spot are also sold at 1-second. SENSEX and BANKEX open interest has gaps. No Greeks or bid/ask. Both column layouts are on the schema page.
Can I check the data before buying?
Yes. The free sample is three real trading days of the NIFTY option chain as Parquet, no email needed. The free sample has 13 columns (layout A, no iv); most older 1-minute option files use layout B and also include iv.
CSV or Parquet?
Files are Parquet. Any file converts to CSV in one line: pd.read_parquet(f).to_csv("out.csv", index=False). The pandas guide walks through it.
Which columns do the files have?
Two layouts exist. Layout A (same as the free sample) (options): datetime, stock_code, exchange_code, product_type, expiry_date, strike_price, right, open, high, low, close, volume, open_interest. Layout B (most older files) (options): timestamp, open, high, low, close, volume, oi, strike, option_type, expiry, iv. Which dates use which, plus futures and spot columns, are on the schema page.
Are Greeks, bid/ask or iv included?
Not in any file: Greeks, bid/ask quotes, order-book depth or tick-by-tick trade prints. Many option files do include an iv column taken as-is from the data feed (not independently computed or verified) — see /free/schema for the date ranges.
Is open interest included?
NIFTY options (1-min and 1-sec) and futures carry open interest. SENSEX options 1-min: open interest is present 7 Nov 2023 – 20 Apr 2026 and 6 Jul – 14 Aug 2026; it is 0 from 21 Apr – 3 Jul 2026 and from 17 Aug 2026. SENSEX futures 1-min: OI is 0 on 17 days in Jul–Nov 2024, from 26 Dec 2025 – 3 Jul 2026 and 17–26 Aug 2026; present otherwise. SENSEX 1-second option files have OI = 0 throughout. BANKEX files have OI = 0 except 15 Jul – 14 Aug 2026.
What do the NIFTY 1-second packs contain?
Option files up to 29 Jun 2026 hold one expiry per trading day (the nearest weekly, calls and puts, strikes around the money); from 30 Jun 2026 each day has three expiries (the nearest weeklies plus the current monthly). Option files dated 2 Jan 2023 – 29 Jun 2026 use layout B, including an iv column taken as-is from the data feed (not independently verified); option files from 30 Jun 2026 use layout A (13 columns, no iv). Spot files carry OHLC plus atm_strike, straddle and straddle_iv. No Greeks, no bid/ask, no 1-second futures.
Are futures and spot included?
Futures and spot are not included in options-only packs: they come in the Complete packs (options + futures + spot) or as the separate NIFTY Futures + Spot pack.
How far back does the data go?
Each pack card and pack page shows its exact dates. The live coverage page lists every instrument, segment and timeframe held, generated from the file catalog.
Refunds and licence
What if something goes wrong?
Full refund if we cannot deliver what you paid for, or if you have paid but not yet downloaded and change your mind. Duplicate UPI payments are refunded in full. No refund after the files are downloaded; expired links are re-issued free. See the refund policy.
Can I share or resell the data?
No. The licence covers your own research, backtesting and internal use; redistribution and resale are not permitted. See the terms.
Is this official exchange data?
No. Options Data is an independent vendor, not affiliated with NSE, BSE or MCX and not an exchange-authorised data vendor. Prices are collected from a broker data feed, then cleaned and canonically named. More on the about page.
